I used to plan half-term like a wedding: colour-coded, hour-by-hour, doomed. Now I plan one thing per day and leave the rest gloriously blank.
The one-thing-a-day plan
Monday the pool, Tuesday the woods, Wednesday absolutely nothing on purpose, Thursday grandma’s, Friday the cinema. The blank space is where the good stuff happened — and where the Wednesday meltdown happened too, to be honest. Four days out of five is a win I’ll take.
